Rescue Every Dog: COVID-19 Operation Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The COVID-19 grant helped offset the drop in donations as well as adoptions once a stay-at-home order was issued. Funds were used to help support animal care, including helping to cover the cost of food, reduced staff, vet runs, etc. during this scary time.

The COVID-19 grant helped support Rescue Every Dog's mission to remain open and continue helping animals as well as providing the best care for RED's current animals. Rescue Every Dog is an organization that runs on grants and donations, something that dropped drastically when the COVID-19 pandemic hit.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

RED has a variety of animals, including ready-to-adopt animals, animals who need additional medical care and are in foster care longer-term, and sanctuary animals. A few animals who benefited specifically from this grant included Holly and Merry, two pug sisters who were scheduled to be euthanized in Texas until RED stepped in. These two sisters needed additional time in foster care, but were happily adopted together on May 24, 2020. Another animal who benefited from this grant was Morrie, an incredibly sweet senior FIV-positive cat who has an adoption pending after his vet check-up scheduled for May 27, 2020.
